Friends of the Library

Have you ever heard someone talking about the Friends of the Library and wondered who or what this group is? Well, quite simply, the Friends of Howe Memorial Library are a group of people who love the library, and want to help support it and protect it. In 2013, the Friends contributed over 500 volunteer hours. They processed all book donations, operated Our Little Book Store, shelved returned books and DVDs, repaired books, held a Fall fundraiser, assisted with special programs and much more. At minimum wage, this means the Friends donated over $3,500 in volunteer hours. The Friends hold their monthly business meetings at 6:00 at the Library on the first Monday of each month. These meetings are open to the public. If you want to learn more about the Friends, please feel free to join us.
  • Where Our Money Comes From

The monies needed to keep the library in operation have come from State Aid, Penal Fines, Memorials and donations.
